The Farm - 20th Anniversary

This Memorial Day, as always, we spent the weekend at the Freckled Frog Farm. This was, amazingly enough, the 20th Anniversary year. Wow! Isabel had a blast in her second year there. This time was a little different for her, as she could actually "run" around and play with all of her friends.

She even learned a bit about sports - see her and the soccer ball above, and her watching daddy with a softball bat below. She even learned a bit about football (tackle football that is!)

As you can see, Isabel is learning her body parts. Our favorite is "where's your mouth Isabel?" which gets us this huge open mouth grin (which you'll see in lots of pictures, since it's the closest thing we can find to "smile for the camera"). And Aunt Meggie knows where her mouth is too!

Every year Chris and Betsey host us all at their home for a wonderful home cooked Saturday night dinner. MMMmmmm. Thanks for all of the hospitality (and for putting up with all the chaos)!

Isabel is such a big girl now - look at her sitting all by herself!

And trying to get out of her tent jail!

Mommy and Izzy relax in the flowers.

We can't all be playing all the time - sometimes we have to be the cheerleaders!

(hey now!)

Meet the Toads (GO TOADS!!!)

And the frogs. : (

Our fearless hosts (wheelchair and all!)

One of the best parts of the weekend is relaxing on the porch - definitely a favorite hang out spot.

Or near the porch!

Couldn't resist Kristin getting creative with the camera - what a shot. And then I guess she had to take a break!

All in all, it was an awesome weekend as always. As time goes by the sports are becoming a little less the main point (until the kids can take over for us anyway), but we had such a blast hanging out with everyone, playing, eating, drinking, and just sitting in the sun. But as fun as it is, we're all pooped by the drive home.

Our Little Fish!

Olympics here we come! Okay, maybe we're getting ahead of ourselves a bit, but I mean, since she's starting this early, she has plenty of time to practice, right? In all seriousness, Isabel has been to the pool a number of times, both on her own and in swim class, and she loves it! Her friend Kiera is even in class with her, so they get a little extra play time together. Unfortunately, we don't have a whole lot of pictures from the class itself, since mommy and daddy are usually both in the water with her. Luckily Grammy and Papa John were there one day to get some good shots with daddy.

Who can resist a baby all wrapped-up in a towel?

Isabel is also quite a sports fan. She helped daddy cheer for Pitt in the NCAA tournament. The cutest mini cheerleader ever!

Yeah, good job Pittsburgh!

No, Pittsburgh, don't do that!

Isabel has also had lots of fun visiting with friends and family. Here she went out to lunch downtown with Bubby and Papa to see Papa's cousin Melinda and her daughter Jessica (aka Izzy's favorite non-grandparent babysitter!)

And here she is, playing with Kiera. Well, sitting and playing in the same room as Kiera.

Now that's more like it!

Izzy is also quite the outdoors-woman. Sometimes she walks to the front door and tries to turn the knob herself, although she can't quite reach. She gets the biggest smile when we go outside and she loves to play in the grass and go for walks.

And here we are cleaning up - somebody just hates the water, can't you tell?

Goodnight Meggie! : )

On a very, very, very cold day in April we did the Colon Cancer walk. This was Izzy's second "walk", having done the Race for the Cure last year. This was a bit colder though! Our friend Shawn is fighting his own battle with colon cancer, and our hearts and thoughts are with him.

And finally, Isabel is starting to have "seconds"! Not everything is a first anymore. This year she spent Passover at Grammy and Papa John's house. She's splitting a little lap time with AJ - they're learning to share already!

Here she is passing from person to person. As soon as she was in new arms, she couldn't wait to reach for the next person. What a little ham!!

What better way to celebrate the end of Passover then a visit from Uncle Jeff and pizza!

Uncle Jeff - do it again!
