Izzy At The Farm

As many of you know, each Memorial Day weekend, we take a pilgrimage to Highland County, VA (the middle of nowhere) to the Freckled Frog Farm for a battle between the Toads and Frogs.

We were thrilled to bring our own toadpole to the farm for the first time. Almost 70 people and 22 kids under the age of 7, participated in this year's farm outing, a great opportunity for Izzy to make some new friends.

As you will see, Izzy had a great time but also caught up on her sleep. She showed off a toad outfit each day and even sported a pair of fancy sunglasses.

Almost Two Months . . . And Growing

Over the past few weeks, our little Izzy has started to really grow. She also starting to smile and making other sounds besides crying (something we are very happy about).

Izzy attended her first Passover and softball game (she went to see her Daddy play).

Here are a few more fun pics below. Visits from friends and grandparents will be posted shortly.
Enjoy!

Busy Izzy

Today, Isabel celebrated her one month birthday. The past few weeks have been somewhat of an adventure as Mommy and Daddy figure everything out.

Izzy recently surpassed her birth weight and was 7 lbs 12.5 ounces at her doctors appointment this past Monday. Even though it took her a little long to get back to her birth weight, she already has great control over her neck muscles and is already trying to crawl up Rach when Izzy lays on her.

Izzy met two of her cousins a few weekends ago when Mike, Lauren, Zach and Miles came through DC. Although Miles and Izzy don't look very happy the picture, we had a great time catching up.

Not surprising, the grandparents can't get enough of the first grandchild on both sides. Over the past few weeks, Grammy Lynch and Bubby Ermann each stayed with us to help around the house.

Sunday was Rach's Baby Shower in Silver Spring, MD. The shower was hosted by Toba Hausner, Linda Silverstein and Marlene Ermann. Everyone was really excited to see Izzy and it was great to catch up. As an added bonus, Izzy met her cousin Sam for the first time.

Isabel Netanya is Born

On February 28th at 10:18pm, we welcomed Isabel Netanya. She weighed 7 lbs 7 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. Isabel and Rachel came home from the hospital on Sunday, March 4th and we are adjusting to life with our new addition.

As you can see below, the grandparents cannot stop smiling!

Aunt Melissa and the Uncles (Gavin and Jeff) were excited too!

We have posted the pictures from the first few days on our shutterfly account. You can access these pictures at the link below.

Getting Ready

Well, we are less than two weeks from Rach's due date. Over the past few weeks, we have been trying to get ready for the new addition.

We finally finished painting the baby's room. Well, we painted the base color but then Rach finished the job. She painted whimsical circles on the walls in different sizes and colors and it really looks great.

As of today, we are just about at 38 weeks. Here is the ultrasound picture (a profile) from the our 36 week appointment. They said the baby is a little small but see no other problems.

Last weekend, we toured Virginia Hospital Center and got the lay of the land. Scott was a little disappointed that there was no wireless internet in the hospital rooms (at least he has his priorities straight).

New Years Day - 2007

On New Year's Day, we had our fifth Open House and the last as just couple. Rach did not let her growing belly stop her from doing her usual - cooking almost everything. From lasagna and mini quiches to gourmet grilled cheese and oreo balls, Chef de Rachel pleased everyone with her magnificent creations.

We would like to thank the Dalys and Pearsons (Karen and Meg) for helping Rach prepare and serve. They were a big help. Chuck and Jeff, helped in their own sort of way. Chuck went with Scott to the supermarket to pick up a few last minute items and Jeff sat in his pajamas watching Penn State football.

Besides food and football, the other great part of the day is catching up with friends. The Ermanns and the rest of the Silver Spring crew braved the Virginia roads to visit us. Rach got to catch up with her friend Roger and his wife Lisa and met his son Riggs. Too bad he left before Sofia, also his age, was here to melt his heart.
Frogs and Toads were also accounted for and co-mingled at the open house. We are looking forward to adding a toadpole to the crew this Memorial Day Weekend.

Everyone had a great time watching football, eating great food and catching up with friends, and Scott even got to pull out the annual viewing of his Hawaiian shirt. We were happy that so many could make it.
